Same Day Electrical Certificates, Inspection and Testing

Qualified electrical engineers can undertake your premises electrical inspection and testing, and provide you with an electrical certificate.

We provide the following Certificates and Safety checks for both residential and commercial properties.

The EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) test is an official document generated after an in-depth evaluation of the electrical system in any home, commercial, or industrial site. Testing must be performed by a qualified electrician, and the frequency with which you need to perform EICR testing depends on the nature of the site.

The EICR test will assess the condition of your electrical systems and assess their efficiency, paying special attention to any degradation or defects. As part of the test, the engineer will check the electrical condition according to the British electrical installation safety standard, formally known as BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.

Specific problems can be revealed through EICR testing. Some such issues include:

– Any circuit or equipment problems that may overload or overheat the system
– Electric shock hazard and fire hazard areas
– Safety issues of connection or grounding of devices and equipment
– Potentially poor electrical work that could cause malfunction or injury

As you can see, such testing could reveal pressing issues that need to be addressed in order to prevent injury or damage.

What is an Electric Certificate?

An electric certificate, also known as an electrical safety certificate or an electrical installation certificate, is a document that verifies the safety and compliance of electrical installations. It provides evidence that the installation has been inspected, tested, and certified by a qualified electrician who has assessed it against the relevant safety standards and regulations.

Types of Electric Certificates

There are several types of electric certificates, each with a specific purpose and scope. Here are the most common ones:

Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a comprehensive inspection and testing of the electrical installation in a property. It assesses the condition of the installation, identifies any defects or potential hazards, and provides recommendations for remedial works. EICRs are usually required every five years for domestic properties and every three years for commercial properties.

Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate

A Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate is a document that verifies that minor electrical works have been carried out safely and correctly. It’s typically used for small electrical jobs, such as replacing a socket or light switch, and is issued by the electrician who carried out the works.

Domestic Electrical Installation Certificate

A Domestic Electrical Installation Certificate is a document that verifies the safety and compliance of a new electrical installation in a domestic property. It’s issued by the electrician who installed the system and is valid for ten years.

Electrical Installation Certificate

An Electrical Installation Certificate is a document that verifies the safety and compliance of a new electrical installation in a commercial or industrial property. It’s issued by the electrician who installed the system and is valid for ten years.

Who Needs an Electric Certificate?

Anyone who owns or rents a property with electrical installations should have an electric certificate. This includes homeowners, landlords, and tenants. Landlords are legally required to provide an EICR to their tenants every five years, and homeowners should also have an EICR to ensure the safety of their electrical installations.

Same Day Energy Performance Certificates (EPC):

An EPC is a certificate that shows how energy-efficient your property is. The document includes estimated energy costs, as well as a summary of your home’s energy performance-related features.

EPCs also include recommendations on measures that would make your home more energy-efficient, along with estimated costs for implementing the changes and the potential savings you could make. Eco Green Electricians can provide you with an EPC on the same day as the survey.
